Salon du Chocolat

Salon de Chocolat is the world largest event purely dedicated to chocolate. The annual trade event gathers over 500 participants spanning 60 different countries. It also includes more than 200 famous chefs and industry icons taking part within the activity. This festival takes place in a mix of bespoke locations across the globe. Visitors can be immersed in chocolate tastings, attend workshops, book signings and much more. La Tomatina

La Tomatina is a character filled event held in a small town of Bunol near Valencia. It is undoubtedly one of the most famous festivals in all of Spain. Over 100 tons of over-ripe tomatoes are used for an active battle between it’s 20,000 participants, making this the largest food fight in the entire world. Pizzafest is the biggest pizza celebration you could ever imagine. It’s held every September in the city of Naples and for near on a full week, infamous pizzerias from around the world all compete against the renowned restaurant Pizzaioli. Stands are dispersed for people to try the different varieties and flavours of this italian born speciality. At the end of the week long celebration a grand jury proclaims the best pizzaiolo in the entire world (for that year). Sacramento Bacon Festival

Sacramento Bacon Festival is exactly what you would imagine led by it’s name. During the food fuelled, week long celebration, pork enthusiasts can find everything they ever dreamed of all made from bacon. Snacks includes milkshakes, cocktails, ramen, pies, pancakes, doughnuts, waffles, salads and also pizzas, the list and experience is extensive. The event itself is heralded across over 100 of Sacramento’s own restaurants, all competing in contests whilst serving bacon themed delicacies, accompanied with their locally crafted beers and live music. Chinchilla Melon Festival

The Melon Festival is an annual event held in Chinchilla to actively celebrate the Australian region for melon farming. The event attracts thousands of visitors with it’s exciting activities such as melon skiing, melon beach party, melon street parade, melon chariot race and even a melon rodeo. The farmers come from across the country, taking part in the awarded fruit weigh-in (the biggest melon ever recorded was in 2007 and weighing 87.5kg).
